三艘基洛級潛艦是伊朗最主要海軍威懾戰力

伊朗伊斯蘭共和國海軍（波斯語：نیروی دریایی جمهوری اسلامی ایران‎）簡稱伊朗海軍，是伊朗伊斯蘭共和國的海上軍事力量的重要組成部分，擁有兵員約2萬人，其中包括約2,000人的海軍航空兵及海軍陸戰隊[1]。

長期以來經濟制裁伊朗海軍較弱，所以以非對稱作戰思維為主，同時也展開自己的造艦計劃，伊朗國防科技大學研製的「游泳者15」號微型潛艇，於2000年8月29日在阿巴斯港建成下水，這是伊朗海軍的第一艘國產潛艇。1996年宣佈自行建造3艘1000噸級驅逐艦，至2002年上半年，首艘摩傑號(Moje)完工，這是伊朗海軍的第一艘國產驅逐艦。但大致來說伊朗自製船艦現代化水準低數量少，沒有與大國海軍較量的能力，只能依靠潛艦和水雷部署能力形成有限威懾作戰。

The first one became operational in 2010 and was entered into service in the Persian gulf, and the second one (the Damavand) was completed in 2013 and is in service in the Caspian Sea.     • Iranian built. They are a larger, more modern, new generation of upgraded and enhanced Template:Sclass2-s with a larger variety of potent armament. These guided missile frigates are designed to carry a Sikorsky CH-53 Sea Stallion helicopter, or two Bell-Agusta 212 helicopters. One of them (Iranian frigate Sahand 2012) is being fitted-up with armament and avionics/electronics, and will be in service in 2013. There are more planned for construction.
