English: The railway system starts from the Zhulin Station on the north side of Luodong Station on the Yilan Line of the Taiwan Railway Administration, and the 38-kilometre flat section from Zhulin to Tuchang, also known as the "Loudong Forest Railway", was used for both passenger and freight transportation. Starting from Tuchang, the cart-track and aerial cableway system were used interchangeably. Taipingshan was the first place where the Hotta-style cableway was put into practical use. In 1926, the Government-General of Taiwan invited Suyata Hotta, an expert in forestry engineering, to Taiwan to improve the aerial cableway in Taipingshan, and in 1930, the Hotta-style cableway was officially launched with excellent results. This established the mode of connection between the aerial cableway and the cart-track. In 1937, the forestry resources in the original development area were deemed inadequate, so the focus of the forest tree farm plantation was shifted to the "new" Taipingshan, which is the Taipingshan we know today.
