English: The MOPITT sensor aboard NASA’s Terra satellite has assembled the first view of carbon monoxide in the Earth's atmosphere.
The false colors represent levels of carbon monoxide in the lower atmosphere, ranging from about 390 parts per billion (dark brown pixels), to 220 parts per billion (red pixels), to 50 parts per billion (blue pixels).
Français : Carte en fausse couleur des teneurs en monoxyde de carbone de la basse atmosphère (bon traceur des feux de forêts et de combustion de biomasse).
Les taux vont de 390 parties par million (couleurs foncées noir/brun) à 50 parties par milliard (bleu) en passant par 220 parties par milliard (rouges) )
