尼可拉斯·劳夫（英语：Nicholas Ralph，1990年4月13日—），苏格兰男演员，凭借2020年起于英国第五台电视剧《菜鸟兽医日记》中主演兽医詹姆斯·海利厄特而闻名[1]。
早期生活
尼可拉斯·劳夫生于南非西开普省开普敦，苏格兰高地长大。童年时曾去过美国几次，在乔治亚州和德克萨斯州都有亲属。[2]劳夫从小学到15岁在罗斯郡踢足球，19岁前也曾在奈恩踢球。[3]
他先在因弗内斯学院学习戏剧，后就读苏格兰皇家音乐学院。念书期间曾出演舞台剧，其中包括与皇家音乐学院、公民剧院和苏格兰国家剧院合作。[4][5]
职业生涯
大学期间，劳夫曾登上BBC苏格兰电台节目《绑架》（Kidnapped）中。2017年大学毕业后，在公民剧院的现场剧场工作了不到一年。苏格兰国家剧院的戏剧《干扰》（Interference.）是劳夫首部担任主角的作品。他也曾在公民剧院与神奇的傻瓜（Wonder Fools）合制的《549：西班牙内战的苏格兰人》（549: Scots of the Spanish Civil War）中进行巡演。[6][7]
大学毕业两年后，他参加了英国第五台电视剧《菜鸟兽医日记》的试镜；该剧翻拍自同名BBC电视剧。劳夫成功拿下该剧主角——兽医詹姆斯·海利厄特，为此接受兽医培训[8]。劳夫回忆这段经历：“直接与我们的现场兽医顾问安迪·巴雷特（Andy Barrett）一起用听诊器放在牛的心脏上，然后是肺、胃……我们与马、羊亲密接触，经历了必要的程序及事项，学习如何接近动物和一切皆是如此。”[9]此前，拉尔夫接触动物的机会有限：“我在苏格兰高地的一座小镇长大，住处有我们的后花园、栅栏，然后是一片总是满是牛羊的田野……”[8]《菜鸟兽医日记》拍摄时经历了各种天候条件。劳夫回忆：“我们在冬天和秋天时在约克郡拍片时，天气很冷又漫长，有时包括寒冷、昏暗和下雨；所以如果有不太行的人在场，那真的会让每个人都失望。但我们非常幸运——有很棒的团队，他们真的互相拉拔、保持彼此的精神振奋。”[10]
虽然詹姆斯·海利厄特有种“柔和、轻快的苏格兰口音”，但据BBC版电视剧的饰演者克里斯多福·提摩西所述[11]，被拍片时口音被要求“中立”。劳夫未延续此指示，而是用道地的苏格兰口音来诠释詹姆斯·海利厄特[12]。
