《百战将军》是迈克尔·鲍威尔与艾默利·普莱斯柏格导演的一部电影。该片讲述将军肯迪参加布尔战争回国，得到了维多利亚十字勋章。后来到德国结识了亨特小姐，在与一名造谣的德国军官发生口角后辱骂了德国陆军，后被迫与一德军军官舒道夫决斗。不打不相识，两人成为好友，舒道夫娶了亨特小姐为妻。
回国后，肯迪发现自己也喜欢亨特小姐。一战爆发了，肯迪再次参战，他相信打仗应该凭借绅士的风度。战争结束时，他在修道院偶然遇到了酷似亨特的芭芭拉·懷恩，二人后来结为夫妇。舒道夫成了战俘，受到了肯迪的热情款待，后来遣送回国。1935年，肯迪退役。
转眼到了二战，舒道夫的两个儿子参加纳粹，妻子逝世，他自己则作为难民流亡英国，与老友再次相逢。克莱夫病故，肯迪选了一名酷似她的年轻女兵作他的汽车司机。肯迪作为老将军动员新兵，可他的骑士精神已不再适应现代战争，片尾处，他与舒道夫陷入了对往昔的深深怀念。
