詹姆斯·巴爾 (聖經學者)

詹姆斯·巴爾（James Barr，1924年3月20日—2006年10月14日）是一名蘇格蘭旧约圣经学者。他在牛津大学期間，於1976年至1978年是奥利尔释经学教授，1978年至1989年則担任希伯来语教授。

生平

巴爾出生在苏格兰格拉斯哥（一说爱丁堡），^[1])青年時期在Daniel Stewart's college和爱丁堡大学接受教育。巴尔于1951年被按立为蘇格蘭教會牧师。^[2]他先后在爱丁堡大学新学院、曼彻斯特大学、普林斯顿神学院、范德堡大学担任教职。他在牛津大学期間，於1976年至1978年是奥利尔释经学教授，1978年至1989年則担任希伯来语教授。

巴尔是直言不讳的批判保守福音派。1977年，巴尔出版了《基要派》一书，系统批判基督教基要派。特别是他批评了一些福音派学者像詹姆斯·I·巴刻对圣经无误论的支持，这一教条宣称圣经里是没有任何错误的。然而，他对福音派基督徒中他认为严谨的学者，例如 F.F.布鲁斯和唐纳德*格思里有很高的评价。巴尔还写过几本有关福音基要派的书，包括《The Scope and Authority of the Bible》（1980年）和《逃离基要主义》（Escaping Fundamentalism）（1984年）。

巴尔1950年和Jane Hepburn结婚，他们有两个儿子和一个女儿。
