黃緣螢（學名：Aquatica ficta）[1]是螢科的一個物種，因在兩片翅鞘間有淡黃色邊紋，故名為黃緣螢[2]。本物種棲息於靜止的水域，其幼蟲亦是水生[2]。
分類學
本物種在1909年被Ernest Olivier描述之時叫作Luciola ficta，屬於熠螢屬[3]，模式產地位於清朝時的贵州贵西道安顺府安平县[4]。2010年，傅新華、Ballantyne及Lambkin將本物種及另外三個同屬物種移往新建立的水螢屬（Aquatica）[5][6]。
型態描述
本物種有着細長的身體，體長7—11 mm（0.28—0.43英寸），寬3—4 mm（0.12—0.16英寸）[4] 雄蟲及雌蟲的顏色均一樣：前胸背板橙黃色；翅鞘深褐色[5]。兩翅中央接合處呈黃色細條紋。雄蟲雌蟲外觀相近，但雄蟲複眼較大；且雄蟲腹部發光節二節，雌蟲發光節一節。其腿部 have yellowish brown femora. The venter is yellowish brown and dark brown. The male has an oblong 插入器 sheath, around 2.0 mm（0.079英寸） long, and elongate and subparallel genitalia[4]。 The larva has gills and glands that secrete protective substances.[7]
分佈及棲息地
本物種見於大中華地區的貴州、香港、福建及台灣。常見於靜止的水域及米田，而幼蟲偏好泥質的底質[4]。成蟲整年可見，台灣最常見於4月及8月[4]。生活在海拔1000公尺以下的截流水田或田溝環境附近。成蟲夜行，和一般螢火蟲相同，平時並不覓食，但會以露水解渴。
習性
儘管黃緣螢的幼蟲亦是水生，但牠們並不會游泳，而是只能夠在水底下爬行[5]。 They go through six instars. They eat small invertebrates and carrion. The larvae probably burrow in mud during dry periods. 成蟲的光為黃綠色。The males fly to look for mates while the females usually do not fly, remaining on the ground. About 100 eggs are laid on moist soil or plants[4]。In one experiment, the life cycle was completed in about 120 days[4]。 A 2010 study recorded about 390 days, the larval stage spanning about 330 days.[8]
