Forvo是一免費的線上發音網站，全世界所有的人都可以通過該網站以自己的母語爲詞彙發音，並試聽來自其他人爲單詞進行的發音和添加新的詞語。
Forvo於2013年12月21日在其官方博客中宣佈，其同有道詞典成爲合作伙伴——爲有道提供發音。[4]

有一个替代Forvo的免费和开源的服务，叫做Lingua Libre。
Lingua Libre发展迅速，截至2021年11月，已经有超过609.000条录音。Lingua Libre允许个人和公司免费下载其所有的发音。语言学习者可以从Lingua Libre下载音频，并将其作为 "发音词典 "在GoldenDict上使用。相比之下，Forvo可以在GoldenDict上使用，但必须支付昂贵的API密钥[5]。
