NGC 3344是一個相對孤立的旋渦星系，位於小獅座，距離地球2,250萬光年^[4]。NGC 3344屬於獅子座群，是室女座超星系團的一個分支^[7]。

NGC 3344形態學分類為（R）SAB（r）bc^[6]，表明它是一個擁有中等、鬆散螺旋臂的螺旋星系^[8]。NGC 3344中心是一個角直徑約3分的HII核^[9]。
