Voat（/ˈvoʊt/）是一个娱乐、社交网络服务及新闻网站。已注册用户可以发布贴文（文字或连结）。其他已注册用户然后可以对贴文投正反票。网站上贴文根据内容分类为“subverses”。
Voat由苏黎世大学的两名分别属于电脑科学和经济学的学生创立[2]。Voat总部设在瑞士。
网站
根据连线杂志，Voat“的外观和功能都与Reddit相似”（aesthetically and functionally similar to Reddit）[3]。Voat是由已注册用户的贴文所集成的，基本上是一个电子布告栏系统。可是，这两个网站也有分别[4]，例如与Reddit不同，Voat是使用C♯编写，而不是使用Python编写[5][6]，它亦限制了一个用户管理“subverse”的数目[7]。Voat亦设有“晚上模式”，把预设的白色主题变成较深色的主题，网站设有即时通知系统，亦采用了响应式网页设计。Voat的用户亦需要有一定的数目的“留言贡献分数”（英语：Comment Contribution Points），才可以对贴文投下票，用户亦有他们自己的个人资料页。在Voat上的贴文亦与Reddit不同，容许内嵌图像和视频[8]。
“Voat”名称的由来是因为与英文“Vote”（投票）的发音相同[9]，网站的吉祥物是一只山羊[10]。Voat使用哥伦比亚的顶级域名.co。
历史
最初于2014年4月创办，“WhoaVerse”本来是一名大学三年学士生的学馀项目。在2015年初，为了方便的关系，“WhoaVerse”改名为“Voat”[9]。
2015年2月，由于Reddit被指控审查其网站上的内容，有一批Reddit用户加入了Voat[11]。2015年月初，Reddit强行取缔了五个被认为是骚扰的“subreddit”－最大规模的一个拥有约15万个订阅者[3][12]，开始有大批用户转移到Voat。由于大批用户造成大量流量，使网站超过负荷，暂时离线[13]。
2015年6月，Voat的网页寄存服务及PayPal帐户由于网站上的内容被关闭。创办人Atif Colo指，“如果我们要维持上线，我们将需要仔细评估提供一个言论自由平台的选择”（we will have to carefully evaluate our long-term options of providing a platform of free speech if we are to stay online）[14]。
2015年7月，由于Reddit一名受欢迎的管理员被解雇，有一批“subreddit”改成私人模式以示抗议后[15]，另一批Reddit用户转移到Voat，再次造成暂时离线[16][17][18]。风险资本家其后接触网站的开发者，对该网站投资表示兴趣[10]。
同年7月，Voat和维基解密被黑客以比特币“尘”攻击和阻断服务攻击。对比特币的攻击令对网站的收取捐款变慢[19]。而阻断服务攻击由于Voat使用Cloudflare而不成功，但做成了第三方客户端不能连线的副作用[20][21]。
2015年8月，Voat在美国注册成为公司。创办人Atif Colo解释是由于“美国的法律在我们研究过的国家中最优胜”[22][23]。
2020年12月，Voat 于圣诞节当日关闭，联合创办人 Justin Chastain 表示原因是缺乏运营资金。
