伊德利卜烈士旅是2012年2月在伊德利卜省成立的反抗敘利亞政府的叛亂組織[6]，成立時名稱為敘利亞解放軍，不久改為現名。[7]其成員主要由曾參與過示威抗議活動的攜帶武器的平民組成[8]。該叛亂組織目前的主要目標是將敘政府軍驅趕出伊德利卜省。
該叛亂組織面臨的最大問題是不能獲得穩定有效的武器與彈藥供給，這導致他們不能有效地攻擊政府軍[9]。
該叛亂組織宣稱儘管他們並不比自由敘利亞軍更有作戰能力，但是卻實施了大多數在伊德利卜省內發生的與政府軍的武裝鬥爭[10]。
