Based on the policy of article titles on Chinese Wikipedia (see Wikipedia:命名常規), the page should be named as 弗拉基米爾·澤連斯基 instead of 沃洛基米爾·澤連斯基. The policy establishes two major rules for naming: one is using the official Chinese name, the other is using the name mostly used in Chinese literature. The president-elect has not announced an official translation of his name in Chinese yet, so the first rule does not apply. As for the other rule, no Chinese media use the name 沃洛基米爾·澤連斯基 in their reports, but the translation 弗拉基米爾·澤連斯基 is widely used. I do not want to insult Ukrainian people (and I know a large number of them speaking Russian who probably do not disagree with the translation. Kvartal 95 also translates his name as Vladimir in English, not Volodymir[1].). I am practicing the policy here.

By the way, the most influential instituion in translating names in mainland China, the names translation office of Xinhua News Agency (新華社譯名室), has set up a rule in translating names of people from former USSR countries. The rule requires that the names should be translated as in Russian language (there is a copy on this site, 維基百科:外語譯音表/俄語), with the only exception for Islamic names. Therefore, the name is translated as 弗拉基米爾 in mainland China. And, it is the official translation in mainland China (Xinhua is an agency under government control, and nearly all the media follow their translation). I know it may trouble Ukrainian speakers, but it is hard to change the rule set up by Xinhua. (Maybe the Ukainian government or the Foreign Ministry can do something.)

I've watched the first two seasons of Sluga Narodu (the latest season has not been translated in Chinese yet) and I do think Vova is a great actor and screenwriter. Ukraine is a beautiful country and I like it. Dyakuyu.--如沐西風（留言） 2019年5月10日 (五) 06:00 (UTC)[回覆]

Я думаю, світ не визнав, Росія агресор у повній ізоляції, під санкціями. Поза межами Росії, з точки зору міжнародного права, Крим - це територія України, окупована Росією. Крапка. Отже, назва застаріла. Втім, чекаю хоч одне АД не на плани, а про анексію Криму. Зараз немає жодного. Власні міркування заборонені.
