Starset是一支來自美國俄亥俄州哥倫布市的另類搖滾樂團[2]，在2013由Dustin Bates組建。截至2021年，他們一共發行了Transmissions、Vessels、DIVISIONS、HORIZONS四張錄音室專輯。
他們創作並演唱的《My Demons》、《Monster》等單曲取得了成功。[3]《My Demons》在2016年就已在影音網站YouTube上取得了2.8億的累計播放次數 。[3]《Monster》則在Billboard主流搖滾排行榜上取得過第2名的最高名次。[3]截至2020年6月26日，Starset作品全球播放量已達20億次。[4]

樂團背景
據說在2013年1月1日，地球收到了蛇夫星座從2047年發回的一段訊息，這段訊息與人類的起源和結局有關，同時也對科技高速發展的負面影響提出了警告。為了傳遞這一訊息，Starset樂團誕生。[3]
經歷
成立與Transmissions專輯(2013-2015年)
Starset於2013年由Downplay的主唱Dustin Bates所創立，他同時兼任主唱、作曲人與鍵盤手的職位，Dustin最早是在俄亥俄大學攻讀電機工程博士學位的期間對天文學產生興趣，他同時也有對美國空軍的完整研究，並曾在國際太空大學(ISU)任教。
他們在2014年7月8日發行了他們的首張專輯Transmissions，而Starset同時也是The Starset Society的一份子，後者幫助他們加深並擴展了專輯中的科學性與政治議題表現。此張專輯中的音樂風格曾與Linkin Park、瘋狂班哲明、Skillet樂團、30秒上火星、Three Days Grace與Red等團體相提並論。該專輯在Billboard 200排行榜上取得了第49位的成績，這是2014年所有搖滾樂團處女專的最好成績。
Starset還單獨發行了專輯中的《My Demons》、《Carnivore》和《Halo》，它們分別在Billboard美國主流搖滾榜單中取得了第五名、第十六名和第十六名（並列）的成績。[6]Starset隨後發行了小說《Prox Transmissions》,進一步介紹了The Starset Society的背景和歷史。[3]
Vessels專輯（2016-2018年）
《Vessels》的首支單曲《Monster》於2016年10月28日發行。[7]Dustin Bates表示，從風格上講，這張專輯的風格將更為多樣化，涵蓋金屬和流行兩個領域。2016年11月4日，Starset開啟了《Vessels》的預熱，並於2017年1月20日正式發佈了該專輯。它的首次亮相在Billboard 200排行榜上取得了第11名的好成績[6] 。

Vessels 2.0專輯（2018年）
2018年8月，Starset發佈了《Bring It Down 2.0》，並宣佈發行《Vessels 2.0》[13]。2018年9月28日，該專正式發行。
作為《Vessels》的豪華版，《Vessels 2.0》新增了9首單曲，包括原專《Vessels》部分歌曲的「重構版」、原聲版、重混音版和《Love You to Death》（原作者 O O Nevigate）的翻唱[14]。
Starset在宣佈發佈《Vessels 2.0》的同時還宣佈他們計劃推出第三張專輯[13]。
MNQN（2018年-2019年）
Starset的巡演一直持續到2018年上半年。在這期間，樂團主唱Dustin Bates規劃了名為MNQN的音樂項目，該項目的音樂更多地偏向電子風格 [15]。
MNQN講述了人工智能系統MNQN的故事，她原名MNON，是感知公司（Sentience Corp.）的產品。在意識到感知公司把她當成奴隸之後，她從那裏逃離並改名MNQN，意為人體模型（mannequin）。[16]
MNQN的首張同名專輯與2019年4月5日正式發行。同時還宣佈了在Wonderbus音樂藝術節（2019年8月18日在美國俄亥俄州哥倫布舉行）的現場表演時間[17]。
DIVISIONS專輯（2019年-2020年）
2019年5月13日，Starset宣佈了其秋季巡演日程和第三張專輯將於2019年9月13日發行的消息[18]。
2019年7月2日，樂團公佈了2020年在歐洲和英國的春季巡迴演唱會日程[19]。
2019年8月，該專首張單曲《Manifest》發佈，同時樂團公佈專輯的名稱[20]。
2019年9月13日，該專正式發行。
由於2020年COVID-19大流行，Starset計劃於2020年進行的大部分巡演先是被推遲，後來則被直接取消。但Starset在2020年8月和2020年12月先後發佈了該專輯單曲《TRAILS》的重製版和《WAKING UP》的混音版。
HORIZONS專輯（2021年至今）
2021年4月，STARSET發佈了齊柏林飛艇樂團單曲《Kashmir》的翻唱（該單曲為Amazon Music獨佔）[21]，隨後還發佈了與明日方舟的合作單曲《INFECTED》。[22]
2021年5月，STARSET宣佈其將在LouderThanLife音樂節[23](2021年9月舉行)和Rockville音樂節[24](2021年11月舉行)公開演出，這是疫情之後樂團首次公佈公開演出日程。隨後，樂團於6月公佈了「AE01」原聲演出計劃[25]（2021年7月~8月在美國舉行）及美國[26]、歐洲巡演日程[27]（分別於2021年11月及2022年2月開始）。
2021年9月10日，STARSET發佈《HORIZONS》首支先行曲《THE BREACH》及其MV，公佈專輯曲目表並宣佈整張專輯將於同年10月22日正式發佈。[28]後兩首先行曲《LEAVING THIS WORLD BEHIND》和《EARTHRISE》則分別與9月23日和10月7日上線。[29][30]在專輯正式發佈前一周左右，STARSET發佈了一段短視頻，有人通過分析視頻聲音的頻譜包含的線索提前找到了新專歌曲《DEVOLUTION》的播放地址。[31]
音樂風格
Starset的音樂風格曾被Erie Times-News' 的Dave Richard評論為「對謬思的激昂進取心與率性的情感表現相互交融，這個樂團擁有與Breaking Benjamin一樣強而有力的爆發性。」Starset的音樂風格則受Hans Zimmer, 九寸釘樂團, Sigur Ros, 30秒上火星, Deftones, Angels and Airwaves 和 Breaking Benjamin所影響。
