公開大學

公開大學，又稱開放大學，是指那些幾乎沒有入學要求的大學[1]。遙距教育是公開大學常見的教育方式，不過並非所有的開公開大學都採取遙距教育方式[2]。

歷史

公開大學的歷史可以追溯到1858年建立的倫敦大學外部學習系統，該大學其實是一個專門授予學位的考試委員會，任何符合其入學要求並支付學費的人都能就讀，並且不限地域範圍。學生可以在學習的同時繼續工作。 [3][4]

歐洲第一所開放大學是開放大學是成立於1969年英國的公開大學。[5]
