斯坦伯格在1965由「鴨子」唐納德·鄧恩（英語：Donald "Duck" Dunn）取代，後者與樂團一起表演與錄製作品，直到2012年去世。傑克森則在1975年被謀殺，之後樂團先後替換了許多鼓手，包括威利·霍爾（英語：Willie Hall (drummer)）、安東·菲格（英語：Anton Fig）、史蒂夫·喬丹（英語：Steve Jordan (musician)）和現任的史蒂夫·帕茲。^[2]

樂團於1992年入選搖滾名人堂、2008年被引入田納西州納什維爾的音樂家名人堂和博物館（英語：Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum）、和2012年入選孟菲斯音樂名人堂（英語：Memphis Music Hall of Fame）。^[4]

在1960年代，靈魂樂與孟菲斯音樂界被認為是黑人文化（英語：African-American culture）中最為保守的，而當時布克爾·T與M.G.'s樂隊因為先後擁有3名白人成員（斯坦伯格、克羅帕、鄧恩）而成為第一個種族融合（英語：Racial integration）的搖滾樂團。^[5]
