托馬斯·格雷（英語：Thomas Gray，1716年12月26日—1771年7月30日），是18世紀的一名英格蘭詩人、古典學家，曾任劍橋大學教授。他一生只出版過13首詩，代表作為《墓園哀歌》（Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard，1751），1757年獲封桂冠詩人。[1]
生平
他出生於英格蘭倫敦康希爾，在家中12個孩子裏排名第5，但卻是唯一一個長大成年的孩子[2]。他的父親菲利普是一名公證人，母親多蘿西是一名女帽商[3]。他的父親精神有問題，後來其母帶他離家出走[4]。
他曾就讀於伊頓公學，在那裏結識了好友賀拉斯·沃波爾（首相羅伯特·沃波爾之子）等[5]。1734年，他入讀劍橋大學彼得學院[6]，1738年和賀拉斯一起前往歐洲壯遊。[3]
他在1742年開始正式從事詩歌寫作[7]，後來先後成為劍橋大學彼得學院和劍橋大學彭布羅克學院成員。[8]
1762年，劍橋大學現代史欽定講座教授特納（Shallet Turner）去世，格雷的朋友們想遊說政府將該職位給予格雷，但最終他還是輸給了勞倫斯·布倫克特。格雷在1768年布倫克特去世後才當上現代史欽定講座教授[9]。
他在1771年於劍橋去世，之後葬在斯托克波吉斯母親的墓旁。[10]
