白足鼠（學名：Peromyscus leucopus；英語：white-footed mouse、woodmouse）是一種白足鼠屬的一種，原產於北美。
特徵
成年體長（不包括尾巴）90—100 mm（3.5—3.9英寸），尾部63—97 mm（2.5—3.8英寸），重20—30 g（0.7—1.1 oz）。最長壽命為96個月，雌性平均壽命45.5個月，雄性47.5個月[2]。它與東部鹿鼠很像[3]。
習性
白足鼠是雜食動物，以種子和昆蟲為食，會捕食入侵物種舞毒蛾的蛹[4]。它們很膽小，通常不會出現在人類眼前，但偶爾會居住在房屋裏做窩並儲存食物[5]，大部分時間生活在樹叢中[6]。
與人的關係
與鹿鼠一樣，該物種可能攜帶漢他病毒，可感染人類。它也是伯氏疏螺旋體的自然宿主[7]、Cuterebra fontinella的主要宿主[8]。
白足鼠是繼小家鼠之後最常見的實驗小鼠品種[9]，也被當作寵物飼養[10][11] ，培育出很多毛色[12]。
進化
研究者觀察到白足鼠為了適應城市生活而演化，如其牙齒比生活在鄉村地區的種群的更短。這可能是由於城市裏的食物不太需要更長而有力的牙齒[13]。城鄉地區白足鼠的精子發生、精子運動和精卵相互作用相關的基因也不同[14]。與農村的白足鼠相比，城市白足鼠免疫系統也可能正在進化，以更有效地識別和應對病原體[15]。
一項比較轉錄組學研究發現，城市裏的白足鼠基因出現正向選擇跡象，讓它們能更好地代謝重金屬和毒素[13]。
