2018年10月20日当地时间晚间9点45分[6]，一群枪手闯入菲律宾西内格罗省沙街一间甘蔗田的竹棚中开枪扫射[7]，枪击持续了约十分钟[8]，造成正在用晚餐的九名农民罹难[9]，其中包括四名妇女与两名未成年青年，歹徒随后还焚烧了三名罹难者的遗体[1]。罹难者多为左翼团体全国甘蔗农联合会（Negros Federation of Sugar Workers, NFSW）的成员[10]。这起枪击案有可能与正进行中的菲律宾土地改革有关[2]。
