虎斑鹦鹉属（学名：Psittacella，台湾作虎纹鹦鹉属）是鹦鹉目鹦鹉科下的一个属。[2]该属为虎斑鹦鹉亚科（Psittacellinae）下的唯一一个成员，一共有四个物种11个亚种。[2][3]该属仅分布于新几内亚地区，栖息于森林内。[4]体长介于14—24厘米之间，为中小等体型的鹦鹉。[5][6]

本属由德国鸟类学家赫尔曼·施莱格尔借由1870年时荷兰探险队前往采集得到的两种标本建立，这两种标本为布氏鹦鹉和羞怯鹦鹉。[2][8]其属名Psittacella源自拉丁语psittacus（意即“鹦鹉”）的一种指小词变化型。[9]
在过去，本属被分类在吸蜜鹦鹉亚科下，现其被归入的虎斑鹦鹉亚科（学名：Psittacellinae）于2012年被提议建立。[1][3]该属在一份2022年的研究中被认为是鹦鹉科下继彼氏鹦鹉亚科、Coracopseinae（为马岛鹦鹉属及马斯卡林鹦鹉构成的亚科，2023年的研究认为与彼氏鹦鹉同分支）、鹦鹉亞科后演化出的亚科。[10][7]
形态特征
所有虎斑鹦鹉都是头部棕色，身躯绿色，尾下覆羽红色的型态，并在背部上半有条纹状的纹路。[6][5]它们的体型较为粗壮，并拥有圆滑的尾巴和翅膀。[4]这些鹦鹉平常生活于树上，以嫩叶和未成熟水果的种子为食。[4][5]其生性较为安静稳重，并不容易被发现。[4][5]
虎斑鹦鹉依其体型可做分类，一侧是较为大型（体长19—24厘米）的布氏鹦鹉和彩鹦鹉；另一侧则为较小型（体长14—15厘米）的羞怯鹦鹉和纹背绿鹦鹉。[6]布氏鹦鹉和彩鹦鹉的差别主要在于前者所分布的海拔较低；而在羞怯鹦鹉和纹背绿鹦鹉间的主要差异一样在于后者的分布海拔较低，而四个物种之间的脸颊及喉部颜色也有所不同。[6]
保护情况
该属鹦鹉均受《濒危野生动植物种国际贸易公约》所保护，并被列于附录二内。[11]在《国际自然保护联盟濒危物种红色名录》中，虽然四个物种皆未有实际估测其种群数量，但因缺乏有遭受威胁的证据而都被列为无危物种。[12][13][14][15]
